Miss Pinky — Handwoven Wall Hanging in Bubblegum, Cream & Rust

$120.00

A big, squishy, joyful piece. This one layers bubblegum and blush pinks with clouds of creamy wool, chunky rust-colored braids, and little flecks of lavender and coral tucked throughout. A burst of multicolored fringe at the top left plays against a long, swingy fringe of cream and pink at the bottom, so it moves when the air does.

It’s all about texture. Several weaving techniques come together here: soumak braids, rya knot fringe, plush roving loops, curly wool locks, and a classic tabby weave holding it all in place.

Details

  • Size: 12 × 22 in (including fringe), on a 14” natural wood dowel

  • Materials: wool roving, wool locks, thrifted cotton and wool yarns

  • Ready to hang; [hanging cord / nail not included]

  • One of a kind. When it’s gone, it’s gone.

About the Maker
I learned to weave during my time in Appalachia. The traditions still shape how I work: slowly, by hand, with materials that have a story. Every piece I make carries a little of that mountain-life patience, with an added splash of New Orleans joie de vivre.
